Reckless (Mill in the Mountains)
Acrylic, 48" x 48"
Private Collection, subsequently destroyed
One of my favourites - it no longer exists. It was recklessly lent by a gallery owner to a potential bankrupt and was presumably chewed up by an angry bailiff. Fortunately there are reproductions.
In this landscape a group of spectators watch the antics of a clown who imitates the reckless tightrope walker from the safety of the solid ground.
Maybe the title was prophetic?
